Priorities
Stratford has some of the highest property taxes in Connecticut. Families and seniors are feeling squeezed, and businesses are looking for reasons to stay or leave. As mayor, I will focus relentlessly on easing the tax burden by growing our commercial base, modernizing government, and ensuring every tax dollar delivers real value to residents.
Together, we can build a Stratford where government works for the people, where families thrive, and where every neighborhood shares in progress. I invite you to read more about my plan
-
Trust is the foundation of good government. Stratford residents deserve to know how their money is spent and how decisions are made. As mayor, I will:
Empower Stratford’s professional staff with the tools and independence they need to serve residents efficiently.
Focus on delivering results: better services, lower costs, and simpler processes to our government systems.
Make all publicly funded activities transparent and accessible.
Host weekly “Coffee with the Mayor” sessions to hear directly from residents.
Publish regular reports on our city’s website detailing goals, progress, and any challenges.
Our residents deserve leadership rooted in facts, accountability, and respect for the public trust.
-
Stratford’s economy must work for everyone - workers, families, and local businesses. Today, too much of the tax burden falls on homeowners, and we have room to grow our commercial base.
As mayor, I will:
Launch the Stratford Business Launch Program, providing support and guidance for new businesses during their critical first year.
Promote the Townwide Business Integration Program to connect local businesses and expand cooperative marketing and services.
Partner with local manufacturers like Sikorsky and Ashcroft to keep union jobs in Stratford and create pathways for students to enter manufacturing careers.
While my focus is on core services, I also believe Stratford’s cultural legacy matters. I’ll support creative projects that bring our community together and help strengthen local businesses.
Economic growth is not just about numbers, it’s about building a Stratford where people can work, raise families, and enjoy a high quality of life.
-
Stratford’s schools shape our future. Once a leading district in Connecticut, we have seen significant setbacks, including falling into Alliance District status. Budget cuts have cost us librarians, tutors, and after-school programs. This impacts our children, our property values, and the town’s long-term strength.
As mayor, I will:
Advocate for fully funding essential services in our schools.
Support innovative programs, including peer-teaching models proven to boost student performance.
Strengthen partnerships between schools, families, the Board of Education, and the broader community.
Work with union leadership to ensure educators have the resources and respect they deserve.
Commit to equity in education, ensuring every student has access to the tools and opportunities they need to succeed.
Education is Stratford’s greatest investment, and our most powerful tool for equity and social progress.
-
Stratford’s police, firefighters, and EMTs are the backbone of our safety and security. They deserve fair treatment, strong support, and the tools to serve the community effectively.
As mayor, I will:
Negotiate fair, competitive contracts that attract and retain top talent, while honoring the service of Stratford residents working in public safety.
Prioritize care for workers injured on the job, balancing compassion with accountability.
Adopt nationally recognized best practices for policing and emergency services.
Ensure funding plans for timely replacement of critical vehicles and equipment.
Advance smart, community-focused policing, aiming for a diverse force that builds strong relationships in every neighborhood.
On public health, I will:
Partner with legislative leaders and health organizations to expand access to community health programs.
Promote clear, factual health information to empower residents in their own care.
Safe neighborhoods and good health are fundamental to Stratford’s strength and future.
-
Stratford’s infrastructure is aging, and we can’t afford to fall behind. Roads, bridges, public buildings, and essential services need investment and care.
As mayor, I will:
Prioritize road repairs, sidewalk improvements, and safer pedestrian crossings.
Invest in water and sewer infrastructure to protect our health and the environment.
Modernize public buildings for energy efficiency and long-term savings.
Expand bike paths and greenways, creating safer, healthier options for transportation and recreation.
Good infrastructure isn’t just concrete and asphalt, it’s the backbone of a town where people want to live, work, and raise families.
-
Stratford needs thoughtful growth to protect neighborhoods while opening doors for new opportunities. As mayor, I will:
Develop a comprehensive Townwide Master Plan within my first 100 days, mapping out where housing, business, and recreation should grow.
Promote affordable and mixed-income housing, including options designed to attract young professionals and strengthen our workforce.
Move swiftly on redevelopment of the Army Engine Plant, transforming this vital waterfront site into a vibrant district with jobs, housing, and public spaces.
Everyone deserves safe, quality housing, and our town deserves smart planning that respects both our history and our future.
-
We have a responsibility to protect Stratford’s natural resources while preparing for the future. As mayor, I will:
Pursue canopy solar installations at the train station to reduce heat exposure and generate renewable energy.
Explore an anaerobic digester partnership to convert waste into usable energy and compost.
Develop microgrids connecting solar arrays to public buildings, improving resilience and lowering costs.
Environmental action is essential not only for our planet but also for Stratford’s long-term financial health and community well-being.
